Our Organization

Catholic Charities Program Sites are located on ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Dakota people. As we continue to work toward a mission and vision rooted in human dignity, it is important to acknowledge the nations upon whose land we live, learn, and work.

This acknowledgment is just one of the many ways we are committed as an organization to better honoring, supporting, and advocating for indigenous peoples, and to better understand our relationship to this history. There is still much work to do.

For more than 150 years, our organization has served the poorest and most vulnerable members of our community. We continue to adapt and respond to the needs of the community and focus our attention where it is most needed. With the support of our donors, advocates and volunteers, we seek to prevent poverty before it takes hold, meet basic needs in times of crisis, and create pathways out of poverty.

Today, Catholic Charities is the largest comprehensive social service nonprofit in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul region, serving thousands of people through 29 different programs at over 18 locations.

Catholic Charities is a member of Catholic Charities USA, one of the largest private networks of social services providers in the country.

In the last year, with your generous support, Catholic Charities provided more than 540,000 nights of housing and shelter and served over one million meals to those living in poverty – thank you! Our incredible volunteers gave more than 109,000 hours of service and nearly 5,000 community members advocated on behalf of those most in need. Catholic Charities is fortunate to be part of such a generous community – we could not do our work alone.
