The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is the national anti-poverty and social justice program of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). As such, the Advisory Board, composed of Catholic community members, is charged with identifying, vetting, supporting, and engaging those groups connected with one or more of the CCHD grant programs.
More specifically, the Board
- searches for potential new grantees throughout the year;
- supports the annual CCHD collection through relationship building in diocesan parishes;
- promotes the USCCB Youth Art Contest and chooses the local winners; and
- organizes events throughout the year, most significantly the annual Journey to Justice Day educational event.
