Help those most in need

Your gift helps people who are hungry, experiencing homelessness and living in poverty or crisis. With programs for children, adults and families, Catholic Charities annually helps nearly 23,000 people, regardless of faith, background or circumstance and advocates on their behalf. With your help, we’ll work towards a better community by helping those of us most in need.

No. Catholic Charities is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, registered in the State of Minnesota. All gifts to Catholic Charities are used solely for the programs and services impacting the thousands of people we serve each year. Contributions cannot be directed to the Archdiocese or any other organization or used for any other purpose. Gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Fundraising and Administrative expense is consistently well below the Charities Review Council standard of 30% (2022 is 14%); every dollar of Catholic Charities’ budget is used to advance our mission.

Catholic Charities respects the privacy of all donors and prospects. We believe in safeguarding personal donor information. Donor names, addresses and any other personal information provided will be used only by Catholic Charities to inform donors and prospects of activities including program updates and outcomes, special events, and funding requests. If at any time a donor chooses not to receive these communications, the individual can remove their name from the agency’s mailing list by contacting the Development office. In 2017, more than 17,000 individual donors and hundreds of organizations and churches funded 34% of our work in the community. This includes grants from the United Way  and a gift from the annual Catholic Services Appeal. Public contracts, fees for services and investment revenue fund the remainder of our operations.

Your employer may be able to match your donation. Contact your human resources department to see if your employer has a matching gift program.
