Parking and entry at Higher Ground Minneapolis
*Notice Regarding Southwest Light Rail Construction on Glenwood Avenue
The Glenwood Avenue train overpass bridge (the bridge between Royalston and Lyndale Avenue East) will be closed during construction but business access to sites along Glenwood Avenue will remain open. Traditional access routes to our Glenwood campus via Lyndale Avenue East and Lyndale Avenue West will remain open. We expect those traveling from downtown Minneapolis will access Lyndale Avenue East from Linden Avenue West (south of our campus) or will access Lyndale Avenue West from Olson Memorial Highway (north of our campus). We expect no change to building entryways during construction. Met Council construction details and updates may be accessed by visiting the Met Council’s Southwest Light Rail Transit Information Page.
When you arrive:
Enter Higher Ground Minneapolis through the double set of doors used by Residential Housing which is accessed from Glenwood Avenue, on the North side of the building. When you arrive, the second set of doors will be locked. Press the intercom on the right wall and they will buzz you in. Proceed to the desk, sign in (including your car make, color & license information) and put on your volunteer or visitor badge. Please don’t forget to sign out when you leave. Do not enter through the shelter door that is accessed through the parking lot. Those doors are locked and unattended.
Parking:
You may park in the small front lot. Do not park in any spot marked as reserved for residents. If that lot is full, pay parking is available at the Glenwood (Farmers Market) Lot – 225 East Lyndale Avenue North. (Despite the address, the lot is accessed from Glenwood Avenue.) To get to that lot, take a left out of the parking lot onto Glenwood Avenue. Proceed west on Glenwood Avenue, cross East Lyndale Avenue and turn into the lot entrance which is the first drive on your left and under the freeway. Please follow the signage very closely. Catholic Charities does not validate parking.
