Volunteers from the Corporate Volunteerism Council came to Catholic Charities’ Northside Child Development Center and they left a great change in their wake! The volunteers worked reweaving the fence, deep cleaning the children’s dining room, scrubbing high chairs and detailing vans.

Scott Cummins serves as vice president of Corporate Volunteer Council Twin Cities. He’s also a senior manager at Accenture. When he was at Northside, Cummins donned another hat: fence weave cutter.

“I really like just seeing all of our companies working as a team,” he said. “Here, we’re all going after the same thing.”

Volunteers from 14 local companies were at Northside, taking part in the Greater Twin Cities United Way’s Next 100 project.

Julie Dyste of Greater Twin Cities United Way coordinator of the Next 100 projects, has seen Northside Child Development Center transform over the summer thanks to the work of volunteers. “I think it really looks great. This project has truly engaged the whole community and will make such a difference to the families, children and neighborhood of Northside,” she said.
