Volunteers who are ill with vomiting or diarrhea are excluded from participating in meal service activities. Volunteers are restricted from working with exposed food, clean equipment, utensils, linens and single-service or single-use items if they have: an enteric bacterial pathogen capable of being transmitted by food, including Salmonella, Shigellosis, or Escherichia coli, persistent sneezing, coughing or a runny nose.
