Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis invites you to volunteer your time to serve people most in need in our community. We welcome people of all faiths and will work with you to find an opportunity that matches your skills and interests. We offer on site and off site opportunities for individuals and groups.

We all have gifts to share with others. For Elizabeth, it’s knitting. She comes to Northside Child Development Center every week with arms full of yarn and a heart full of care. What gifts can you share?
People who volunteer together to make a difference for those most in need gain priceless team-building and collaboration skills to use back at the office. You, too, can work together to make a difference!
Duffy Watson, a third grade student at St. Raphael Catholic School in Crystal organized a warm wear drive and collected 223 mittens, hats and scarves. Duffy, along with his dad and little sister, delivered items in December.
Youth groups, School, Summer Stretch, Mission, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, and Confirmation classes are invited to conduct a food, personal hygiene kit, or clothing drive and deliver the items to our warehouse in South Minneapolis.
The number of people you may bring to the volunteer opportunity is dependent upon the actual project or task. Generally groups of 3-15 can be accommodated. We can, by special arrangement, accommodate requests of 20-200 people. Please allow ample time for large group projects.
If you want to bring additional people please let us know in advance. We work hard to match the number of volunteers to the activity and bringing extra people may not be appropriate for the activity.
If your group size changes, please let us know in advance.
Please contact your supervisor directly or in the case of a group, refer to your confirmation letter for contact information.
Outdoor work such as landscaping and weeding requires outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. The same applies to kitchen work. In all cases we require casual clothing with closed toe shoes. We also suggest not wearing heavy perfumes or colognes or bringing expensive items to your volunteer opportunity. For those working in the kitchen, long pants are required.
This varies with the opportunity. You must, however, be 18 or over to volunteer independently. View current family and youth group opportunities for details.
