Catholic Charities' 2008 Legislative Issues

Health Care Access 

–  expand access for low-income Minnesotans

–  approve $2.4 million in debt service funds

Mortgage Foreclosures

–  protect renters from the impact of foreclosures

–  allow access to personal belongings
MFIP Welfare Policy  –  repeal the "family cap" rule
Arrest Records –  limit the use of arrest records as a criterion for employment
Commission to End Poverty –  monitor the Commission's recommendations 
Tax Exempt Status –  clarify the phrase "public charities"
